Story

Elara enters the forbidding stone walls of Hunter Castle seeking employment as a domestic nurse to pay for life-saving treatments for her critically ill son. Her desperate interview takes a shocking turn when she comes face-to-face with Duke Alexander, the brooding lord with whom she shared a single passionate encounter years ago before disappearing into the slums.

Afflicted by an ancient blood curse that makes human touch unbearable, Alexander finds peace only in Elara's presence. Navigating poisonous castle plots and false accusations concocted by Alexander's entitled fiancée, Elara uses her wits and herbal knowledge to defend her son, breaking through rigid class barriers to heal the duke's tormented heart.
