Story

Sloane runs a quiet clinic by day, and by night she leads the vampires her city fears. Her husband Dorian is gentle, clingy, and squeamish around blood — a man she married believing she knew everything about him. Then war breaks out between hunters and vampires, and the two meet on the battlefield as enemies. His blade goes through her chest. Her mask comes off. They recognize each other at the worst possible moment.

Neither can simply walk away. The witches, a third power, move to wipe out both sides, forcing Sloane and Dorian into an uneasy alliance. What follows is a fight to keep their people alive while the memory of that blade sits between them. Trust has to be rebuilt from nothing, and the cost of getting it wrong is everyone they lead.
