The male lead is a prodigy who reached the Tribulation Stage years before anyone his age should. His master, worried that power without humility will destroy him, lies and sends him down the mountain believing he is an ordinary mortal with no cultivation at all. He takes the lie seriously. He walks, eats, and struggles like anyone else.
When he saves a young woman from danger without understanding how, she stays at his side, and the two travel together through threats he keeps misreading as bigger than himself. Each fight forces him to look inward instead of at his own strength. The real question is not whether he can win, but what he will choose to protect once he finally understands what he is.
